I Know

I know you're out there, and I love you, but I am currently swimming in the deep of Editopea right now. So, once the currents have ebbed, I will be back again.

Snow Days!

As we embark on snow day number three, I return to my outline for the follow up to Broken Bones. Still working on the title for it. I believe I want to go with a B.B theme for the books. This one involves Peter, a wolf/vampire, his soon to be cop lover Rene and Alanya, the vampiress who wants to be queen who feels that Peter is standing in her way. So, any thoughts? I'm open. I'll have more of a synopsis as I go along, Trying out Rhys's outline idea first. She says to look at your story sideways. I'm going with it.

Second Edit

After much bloodshed, the second edit is now complete. I must thank Tricia for her skill with word (She's like a word wizard.), her connection with my men, and her understanding. The woman is awesome, and I absolutely would not have made it without her.

Think of it like this. You write your book. Essentially, it's in the "coal" stage. Yes, you've poured out your dreams, given characters life, but there's more needed before you have a book worth reading. It takes a word wizard like Tricia to take that coal you've created and add the necessary pressure and conditions to make it a diamond. Passages may be deleted, phrasing altered, more depth added, conflicts in structure resolved, and a more cohesive story line explodes before your eyes, faceted with complete ideas and areas of amazing prose. Rhys says that she owes her editor a jaguar. Tricia, when I'm able, a summer home in your favorite location is totally yours.

Broken Bones is supposed to be out September 2015. Keep your eyes open! Don't worry; I will keep you updated.

In the meantime, Goodreads is about to have their Don't Read in the Closet! Yes! I can't wait! I want to be one of the authors this time. So, you could be reading something from me there as well.

Love to you all!

Logo

So,
I needed a logo. This is the one my hubby created.
Personally, I love it! Thoughts?

What am I reading now?

Well, this series has me interested...

McKenna really knows how to give that authentic military feel. The terminology, the equipment, the locations. These are passionate men in the middle of Iraq and other war-torn places where wolves exist along with humans in command, as Marines. Love this author. Love her men. She respects the uniform and redefines history. Jeremy and Timothy, vulnerability and strength, the perfect combination.  And, the sex scenes? Oh, my.

Cover Time

It's time. I am in the process of building a cover for Broken Bones. Yes! As I have said before, I love Dreamspinner's covers, and my book will have one, a frameable work of art to enhance Dan and Aiden's story. Let me pause and enjoy this. Ahhhhhhh.

Okay, done.

Love to you all! Let's rock and roll!

Audiobook? Audiobook? Wherefore art thou, Audiobook?

Seriously,
If you haven't purchased

YET,
then first let me ask, "What are you waiting on?"

An audiobook is great way to go. Traveling, driving, working in the kitchen, cleaning up, folding clothes, lying on your bed and looking at the ceiling...heck, you will invent things to do just so you can continue reading/listening to this piece. The author is fabulous as she always is. Rhys Ford has a gift of writing poetry with each and every work, a rhythm that brings out the music in her soul and invites you to dance along with her boys. Connor and Forrest will delight and have you eager for more. She's addictive, I tell you. The narrator, Tristan James is, too.

Come on. Take a sip. You won't be disappointed.

What Have I Ready Lately?

Oh, my.
There is a reason why the world stops when I read Mary Calmes, anything by Mary Calmes. It's the love her characters experience, their strength, their undeniable masculinity, the layers of her men. I love the way they love. Fighting Instinct is no different. There is a new kind of shifter I've not read before, a passion shared between predator and prey that causes a struggle for both main characters.

Whatever you do, read this book.

Where have you been?

Wow,
Let me first say, "Hi."

It has been absolutely forever since I've been on this blog. Received my first review. Ooooooh weee, that's a doosie! But, I have learned greatly. One, repetition is not a good thing. Two, watch that active versus passive voice. Three, describe it; don't tell it. Four, say thanks to Tricia daily. She kicks ass, especially mine.

I'm looking to write a few brief ficlets since I have some time now. I remember seeing a request for short pieces. Since I'm available, I am throwing myself into the hat. I will post the web address and a bit of the storyline so you know what you're in for when I drop a line or three hundred.

Lotsa' Love,
Deja
